The Etna 3k tour at the Volcanological Observatory will take you to the feet of the majestic active craters of Etna, the North-East, the Central crater and the South-East. The ascent will be on board 4x4 vehicles up to the volcanological observatory. From this position it will be possible admire the volcanic plateau where the 4 summit craters of Etna are located, with a unique view of the South-East crater, it could gives you the spectacle of a new explosion*. A short trek will lead you to the majestic volcanic depression of the Valle del Bove, with its walls and peaks of volcanic rock over 1k meters high. Most part of the trail will take place along lava fields, typical lunar landscapes, and inactive craters, with wonderful views of the Ionian coast and Taormina. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes and is accessible to anyone. During the return to the station there is a further stop during which you will discover the phenomenon of the subterminal eruptions of Etna.
